It’s been what… more than 4 years
already?
I was trying to recall when I got involved with P3X and what I remember was getting hooked on Ragnarok back in 2003, thanks to my brother, Raffy. Don’t worry, I will not bore you with sentimental flashbacks, but simply wanted to establish a timeline of the group’s evolution.
Evolution. A significant word for me. Webster Dictionary defines evolution as “the continuing process of change”. Two keywords here – “continuing” and “change”. P3X Infinity, as we have come to know it, has evolved since it was formed several years ago. Not to say it was all smooth sailing – the group actually underwent hibernation when core members of the group had to attend to more important personal matters. Its reactivation in 2005 by Mike, Benson, Raffy and myself signaled the start of the new P3X Infinity, one that has actually evolved from a group of young gamers fresh out of college, to a more diverse group – a mixture of professionals, entrepreneurs and students, some located in Visayas and Mindanao.
I wanted to focus on evolution because let’s face it – we are not getting any younger and we cannot expect our lives to remain the same as it was several years ago. Raffy started to work, Mike focused more on his coaching career, Benson went to work as well. Noticeably, most of our members now either work in companies or have their own business. Surprisingly, while our real-life careers have taken some of our gaming time, I felt that P3X Infinity has in fact, grown more. I believe the group is more mature, although we still enjoy the occasional “boom boom” sessions at Pier One. A classic example of this maturity is the forums that we have right now and the upcoming website of P3X Infinity.
Forged because of our love for the game, P3X Infinity has evolved to a group of people that are friends in real life, teammates in-game, and armed with diverse talents. Beyond the game, I envision P3X Infinity to be the springboard for opening up windows of opportunities. This is a challenge that I welcome, hopefully with the other officers of P3X.
Sorry the message is quite long. I wanted to start the year off with a firm resolve to slowly but surely put P3X Infinity “on the map”. I also wanted to convey the message to all the members of the group, old and new, that P3X Infinity will always be there, even if you are not, and that P3X is not just a name, but an experience.
Happy New Year!
